Last week was Computer Science Education Week and Hour of Code here at BHS. Students

from all over the school got to come down to the Help Desk to experience demonstrations, tutorials, and activities given by the students here at Help Desk and also a representative from the Microsoft Store. Students had an array of options to choose from, including coding Parrot Mambo Drones, playing with Processing, and also trying out some of the mixed reality demonstrations that Microsoft had to offer. The basic Mixed Reality experience was open to students, but

Microsoft's, more expensive, HoloLens experience was only open to a limited group of students and to all teachers. The HoloLens runs right around $5,000 and interacts with your current environment to give you an immersive and unique experience. The Help Desk students helped guide the younger students through using Tinker and a few other apps to code and fly the Parrot Mambo Drones. Overall the experience was very good and we hope that it will be just as successful next year.
